About the Project
The Prescott Place remodel went through a real transformation!
This Alamosa Estates property is now a true semi custom Chandler home!
When we were first asked to help design the Hadeland’s home we were thrilled at the opportunity to also change the once restrictive floorplan to a more open, better functioning space throughout. Upon entering the home you once had a double door entry into another bedroom greeting you on the right and the home lacked a proper formal entry way for this grand, luxury home. For that reason we closed off the bedroom entrance from the front door way and gave the bedroom its own private entrance through an existing closet door down a hallway on the back side of the house.
In the previous living room area we created a new office with double French doors that looks out to the front of the house through large picture windows. For the Hadeland’s it was important to have a home office that had lots of natural light and a real “home office” feel. The Dining room that they weren’t going to use for formal dining has now become the living room area or teen room area for their children.
The kitchen surprisingly enough had only 1 entrance into it and from the garage and Master Bedroom suite you had to walk down a long hallway to reach it. We decided to give the kitchen a second entrance where a pantry once stood that led directly to the garage and Master Bedroom Suite. Now the kitchen had two points of entry opening up this space dramatically! We also removed an old pony wall between the kitchen / family room to really keep everything nice and open. The kitchen got all new KCD cabinets with the island in Slate and the perimeter in Lenox Canvas. The hardware is the Cyprus Collection from Amerock in Golden Champagne. Lighting is from Progress lighting and includes three Elevate: Bronze Mini Pendant with Etched Glass Shades. We gave the Hadeland’s a Ruvati- 32" Double Bowl, Stainless, Undermount Sink and a Kraus- Gooseneck Kitchen Faucet. The countertops are in a Kedra- Calacatta Gold Satin Porcelain which was used up the walls as backsplash to the ceiling. We gave them a dramatic stainless steel Cavaliere- 36" 900 CFM Ductless Wall Mount Range Hood that looks amazing against the Calcatta Gold Satin Backsplash.
For the Family room off the kitchen we closed up some old fashioned nitches and created a luxurious fireplace out of Materika Wavy tile in Cream. We added a mantel and 2 cabinets in KCD slate with matching hardware as the kitchen. This really ties the space together nicely and now gives the Hadelands this warm and inviting space to enjoy their new fireplace, watch TV and entertain right off the kitchen.
The Master Bathroom was lots of fun to see the old glass block bulky shower come down and give them a new, large walk in zero entry shower with glass panels and a rain shower system! We created a waterfall from the top of the shower emptying into the shower pan with a Serenity Stone Riverock and a shower tile in an Italian tile from Marrazi called Block. The vanity cabinets are in KCD slate with Abernathy hardware from Amerock accented by four distinct finishes, this stunning jewel-like knob creates a sophisticated and timeless look on their bathroom vanity.
From the Master walk in Closet we created another entrance directly into the laundry room which is such a score!! Who doesn’t want to walk from their closet right into the laundry room!! Yes, please!
