About The Project
This home is in the Arcadia area and was originally built by Al Beadle a Phoenix modernist Architect. The home had never been remodeled since the 1960's and was in dire need of some love!
We created a 2nd Master bedroom downstairs with a nice big master bathroom with walk in shower. We gave this bedroom its own hallway and separated the space from the family room. The kitchen was a tight galley kitchen with upper cabinets that closed off the kitchen from the dining room and a wall closed the kitchen from the family room. We removed the walls separating the family room and kitchen and made this space a new, open concept plan, perfect for entertaining. We gave our client a large island which she dreamed of, lots of drawers and a new pantry for storage that this kitchen lacked.
We re-finished the staircase with a gunmetal paint and new natural wood tread and re-painted the original Malm fireplace a distinctive noir color.
Both Bathrooms were remodeled in a Mid-Century Art Deco feel to include large walk in showers and larger vanities with plenty of countertop space. All the flooring was replaced after we leveled out a sunken living room to a light grey with black veining downstairs and upstairs we put down a warm weathered grey wood flooring to warm up the space and to soften the sound and acoustics in this fabulous 2 story home.
