About the Project
This North Phoenix Remodel was a Major Transformation.
It included the home's 3 bathrooms, laundry room and a complete kitchen re-design, plus all the flooring was replaced throughout the house.
The previous kitchen was a dated plan which cutoff the family room and living room / dining room area with walls and arch ways to enter each room. The space had a lot of cabinets, but was too small and felt crowded with more than a couple people in the kitchen at once. The client loved that the kitchen had a lot of natural light with a huge window looking out to the yard and wanted to incorporate a design that had as much natural light but included a more open feel with an island everyone could sit around. She also wanted a nice big vent hood over a cooktop. The challenge was on!
Our NEW and Improved design gave our client 2 new tall windows with a brand new custom wood vent hood in the middle of both of them. We moved her cooktop to where the original sink was once located and created a whole new kitchen setting. The sink went on the island along with a pull out microwave drawer and the dishwasher. We made sure to add a lot of storage pull outs throughout the kitchen and nitched out the island for bar stools to not take away space from the family room. Both walls separating the family room and living / dining room areas came down and the family room was reinforced with a new wood beam that we stained to match the flooring. Cabinets are a white shaker on the perimeter with glass cabinets by her kitchen table. On the island we chose a Grey Stone shaker with shiplap on each finished side. The countertops are a Calacatta Verona Quartz with really pretty veining that we took up the walls on each side of the windows and vent hood. Hardware is in a brushed nickel and faucet by Brizio. A new pantry complete with barn door was also added under the stairs for more storage. This kitchen is now an open plan that gives our homeowners everything they wished for.
The Powder bath, Laundry and Mudroom
Upon entering the garage our client wanted a place to store shoes and backpacks in a more organized fashion, so the mudroom was designed around her concept she had seen on Pinterest and It turned out even better than the Pinterest board with a quartz bench to tie in the rest of the quartz in the house. The laundry room and powder bath share the same space with a door in between so we had to find a fun way to incorporate both rooms. We went with a Modern Farmhouse Approach for both. The flooring is a fun large hex tile called Virtue that has a combination of some grey and tans in assorted patterns .Virtue™ features interlocking tiles that seamlessly connect for a consistent hexagon shape. It’s eclectic mix of ornate patterns and smooth textures makes a fun statement in this space. The back walls of the laundry and powder are in an Italian tile called Sistem in a concrete color which pops out the wooden vanity and mirror and compliments the 2 black sconces. The powder bath is now complete with a custom wood vanity with a Brizio Litze wall mounted faucet and a round vessel sink. The laundry room got some new open shelving and a built in cabinet in a Grey Stone color with a Calacatta Verona quartz countertop that tied the mudroom and laundry together.
The Master Bathroom
Oh baby! We took this dated bathroom and completely transformed it with a chevron laid tile on the floors, new freestanding tub under a new fabulous window with wrap around 12 x 24 carrara white with gold veins that matched the shower walls. Vanity is floating with three sets of drawers in a stone grey and we built up the counters to be extra chunky in a Calacatta Verona quartz. The faucets are by Brizio Litze and wall mounted into two undermount rectangle sinks. We just love this transitional bathroom!
Mermaid Kids Bathroom
This Mermaid Bathroom is so stinken cute and so happy that the two little girls for who it was designed for are as happy as can be! We found a scalloped tri-color tile and took it up the back walls, the shower walls and as backsplash under the mirrors. We then added a new Stone Grey Vanity with double sinks, two white mirrors and a fun sconce light in between. Custom hand painted mermaid knobs added an extra special touch to the vanities and pops of teal throughout! This bathroom got a wall knocked down that used to separate the vanity and toilet / shower area and got a new freestanding tub / shower with a new window for extra light into the bathroom. The space is now an open, fun, whimsical bathroom the girls can enjoy!
